Ingredients: 3 large potatoes, 2 raw bananas, green peas, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder, a pinch of garam masala, butter, oil, salt

For the sweet and sour sauce: Juice of two lemons, honey, chilli flakes, salt.

    Steps:

    1. Boil 3 whole potatoes and 2 raw bananas in two separate vessels as bananas tend to cook slightly faster than potatoes. Do not boil them all the way, the bananas and potatoes should not be soggy.

    2. After they cook over halfway, take them off the heat. Put them into a vessel containing cold water and remove the skin.

    3. Transfer the bananas and potatoes to a clean container. Using a masher, mash the potatoes and bananas, keeping in mind that it should not become a paste. Keep the mash slightly lumpy.

    4. Take a pan and add a knob of butter into it. Bring the flame to a medium heat and sauté the green peas for about 3-5 minutes. After this, transfer the peas to the mash.

    5. Now, add salt, garlic powder, onion powder, red chilli powder, a pinch of garam masala to the mash and give it a good mix.

    6. After all the spices are incorporated well, make balls of the mash. Flatten each one to give it the structure of a patty.

    7. Heat up some oil in a pan and put two patties in the oil to pan fry them. Make sure the pan is at a medium heat. This will take about 3-5 minutes on both sides. Finish them all in the same manner.

    8. Place all the tikkis on a tissue paper to soak up, all the extra oil.

    9. For the sweet and sour sauce: Squeeze the juice of two whole lemons into a cup. Add honey, salt and chilli flakes and salt to taste. Mix well. Serve with the tikkis.

Your yummy tikkis are ready to be served.
