Cheesy Appam For Your Child

Give your kid another reason to drool, cheesy appam. Easy to digest, this dish is loaded with nutrients such as vitamin A, C and calcium. Fill it will cheese and see how the taste and the nutritional value of appam enhances.



    Ingredients: 1 cup semolina, 1 grated carrot, 1 chopped onion, veggies of your choice, mozzarella cheese, fruit salt, 1 cup curd or buttermilk, salt, lemon juice. (Measurement 1 cup = 100 gm)


    1. Mix semolina, curd, salt and make a paste. Add water if required. Keep it aside for 30 minutes.

    2. Add grated carrot, onion and veggies (if any) to the semolina and mix well.

    3. Add a pinch of fruit salt to the batter and a few drops of lemon juice.

    4. Once the batter is ready, pour 1/2 a tbsp batter on an appam pan and then grate some cheese over it and then pour some more batter. The cheese needs to be sandwiched between the two layers of batter.

    5. Cook for 8-10 minutes on a medium flame. 

    Serve it with homemade nariyal chutney or tomato chutney and your kid will love to have it again.
