Creamy Spinach Toast

Creamy spinach toast can be a classic breakfast or an evening snack option which proves to be a good source of nutrients including, calcium and iron, coming from the cheese and the spinach. This mouth-watering recipe is made for all choosy eaters, who does not want to eat spinach.

Here is how you can get your child to eat spinach:

Ingredients for Creamy Spinach Toast:

2 tbsp butter, 2 cups shredded spinach leaves, ½ cup finely chopped onions, one and a half tablespoon Corn flour, 1/2 cup milk, a pinch of crushed black pepper, salt to taste, 2 tbsp fresh cream, ½ cup grated cheese, bread slices

Steps to make Creamy Spinach Toast:

1. Heat the butter in a non-stick pan, add onions and saute for about 2 minutes.

2. Add spinach to the pan and saute it for 2 more minutes.

3. Mix cornflour and milk in a bowl. Stir to avoid lumps.

4. Add cornflour-milk mixture to the pan. Keep stirring and let it cook until the mixture begins to thicken.

5. Add salt and black pepper according to taste.

6. Now, add cream and cheese to the mixture.

7. Mix it well, switch off the flame and let it aside to cool.

8. Spread the mixture on bread slices and bake for 8-10 minutes or until crisp. You can bake it on the nonstick pan also.

9. Cut the bread slices diagonally and serve it hot.

Sprinkle oregano and some more cheese before serving it.
