Dals are full of protein. Flavouring the dal with jaggery, which is rich in carbohydrates and ghee, which has fats, and cardamom, you get Dal Meetha.
Contents
½ cup toor dal, 1 tsp crushed jaggery, 1 cardamom, ½ tsp ghee
1. Wash the toor dal and drain the water.
2. In a pressure cooker, add ghee. Once warm, add cardamom. Saute for a minute and remove the cardamom.
3. Add the washed toor dal, crushed jaggery and the remaining ghee. Mix well.
4. Pressure cook the dal for 3-4 whistles.
5. Once the steam has cooled down, meetha dal is ready.
Serve the dal with rice. Enjoy!
