    Steps to make Dryfruit Halwa:

    1. In a pan, add two table spoons of ghee and lightly fry the almonds till you get a good aroma.Remove the nuts and keep aside. Once they are cooled, grind to a coarse powder.

    2. In the same pan, add a tablespoon of ghee and fry the cashew nuts.

    3. Soak the dates and fig in warm water for 30 minutes.

    4. Grind the fig and dates by adding 1 cup of water to make a smooth puree.

    5. Make sugar syrup by adding 1 ½ cup of water to the sugar and boiling the mixture till the sugar dissolves.

    6. Heat half the amount of ghee in the pan.

    7. Add the fig-dates puree and boil.

    8. When it starts boiling add the sugar syrup and boil for a few minutes by stirring continuously.

    9. When the mixture starts to thicken, add the ground nuts powder and remaining ghee and cardamom powder and cook by stirring continuously.

    10. As you continue stirring, the halwa will become a single mass by leaving the sides of the pan.

    11. Cook for 2-3 minutes and remove from flame.

    12. Grease a tray with some ghee and pour the mixture into it. Garnish with cashew nuts.

    13. Allow to cool and cut into diamond shapes.
