Yummy Carrot Paratha

It’s time to have a healthy dose of carrots in a form you would simply go gaga about. Carrots help improve the eyesight whereas whole wheat flour provides the carbohydrates required.



    Ingredients: 1 cup whole wheat flour, 1/2 cup warm water to prepare the dough, 1 carrot thinly grated, ¼ tsp of carom seeds, a pinch of red chilli powder, salt to taste, desi ghee (clarified butter), Measuring cup 1 cup=250ml


    1. Take a non-stick wok and heat a tsp of ghee in it. Sauté grated carrots in it for a minute.

    2. Now, add red chilli powder, salt and carom seeds to it and stir again for a minute till the carrots are completely dried out. Turn off the flame and let it cool on a plate.

    3. In the meantime, make the dough using whole wheat flour and warm water.

    4. Roll out the dough into a circle shape and add 2 tbsp of carrot filling to it and cover the sides by rolling it in the shape of a chapatti. Heat the tawa, and put the paratha on it.

    5. Once it turns light golden add a tbsp of ghee to it and let it be little crisp from both the sides by flipping it. 

    Your nutritious paratha is ready to be served with butter or curd.
