Frequently Asked Questions:
Below are some of the common queries about RTOs in India:
Those whose age is greater than 16 years can apply for a LL to learn to ride a 50cc two-wheeler without gear. After you turn 18 years old, you can apply for a LL and later a DL for vehicle(s) (two-wheeler and LMV). After the age of 20 years, you can apply for a DL for driving transport vehicles. However, a DL for transport vehicles will be issued only after holding a DL for LMV at least for a year.
Approach the RTO which has registered your car along with your vehicle, pay the required fees and get the vehicle checked. Once it passes the test, the RTO will issue the FC.
You can initiate the procedure by applying through the Parivahan web portal. Once you have paid the fee, you will be given a slot for the DL test. Visit the local RTO on the given slot and you will get your DL upon successful completion of the test.
It is mandatory to produce a valid Learner Licence to get a Driving Licence in India. Hence you will have to complete the process of LL and then apply for a DL.
The fee to apply for a Driving Licence (DL) in Bengaluru is Rs. 200 which can be done through the Parivahan web portal.
