Creativity Alert: Lion Faced Message Holder

Requisites: Yellow craft paper, Orange craft paper, 2 googly craft eyes, Bamboo skewer or tooth pick, 2 wooden pegs, Glue, Scissors

Steps:

1. From the yellow paper, cut a 10 cm circle, two small 0.5cm circles for the eyes and a 4 cm oval shape for the face.

2. Out of orange paper. cut 20-24 strips of 0.5 cm width and 8cm length each.

3. Make the lion’s mane by coiling the orange stripes around the bamboo skewer or the tooth pick.

4. Glue the entire orange mane on the 10 cm yellow circle.

5. Now, glue the yellow colour oval face on the mane. Ensure it is at the centre of the circle.

6. Glue the 2 googly craft eyes and ears on the oval shape and make a lion’s face.

7. Turn the lion’s face over and glue the two pegs on the back, with the grabby part of the peg facing up (so it can hold a note).

8. You can also glue two magnetic strips to the back of each peg and stick your lion message holder to the fridge.

This is a great activity that enhances your child’s creativity and hand eye coordination. Your kid will most definitely enjoy writing small messages and putting them on the lion peg holder to convey it to you.
