A fraction is a part of a whole thing, for instance, part of a cake or pizza. Work out fractions the next time you are having pizza or cake at home. It helps your child to grasp and learn how to solve problems.

Steps:
1) In maths, a fraction is written with a number on top and another number on the bottom.
2) The bottom number tells you how many parts the whole thing has been divided into. For instance, if you cut a pizza into eight slices, the bottom number of the fraction will be 8.
3) The top number tells you how many of those parts you are talking about. For instance, if I take five slices, then the top number of the fraction will be 5. So the maths fraction that tells you about my five pieces, taken out of a pizza cut into eight pieces, will be written as 5/8.
4) If your child is confident and really likes fractions, try these challenging games for their sharp memory.
Use this in practical issues in life, and your child gets a real life of experience of what he is learning at school.
