'Lock and Key' and 'Touch and Run' games have been our childhood favourites. Here is an activity that will help your child to improve his gross motor skills while he is having loads of fun. Many children need to participate in this activity.
Steps:
1. One child is chosen as the 'fox'. Other children stand at a distance from the start point.
2. One among the group of children asks “What is the time Mr. Fox?” The child posing as a fox should tell a time between 1-12.
3. Children should move forward with the number of steps that equals to the fox time.
Thus, getting closer to the fox. The fox shall now try to catch the ones closer to him. Others should run to start point before the fox catches them. The child who gets caught becomes the next fox.
The game of touch and run helps in developing and strengthening large muscles of hands and legs and improves bone strength. Summer vacations are around, why not play now?
