A fantastic activity to do with your 2 year old is, making a homemade tunnel using simple items you find around your house.
Contents
Requisites: Dining chairs, scarves, stockings, long socks and a large blanket.
Steps:
1. Arrange the dining chairs in a row.
2. Wedge the scarves, long socks and stockings between the chairs pushed together. Ensure there is no gap between chairs.
3. On the top of the chairs, throw a large blanket to create an enclosed tunnel effect.
4. Let your child explore the tunnel giggling and laughing as she crawls, wriggles and pulls herself through the tunnel.
5. As she comes out of the tunnel encourage her to say 'peek-a-boo' or wave a hello.
This activity provides ample opportunity for your child to build her gross motor skills, sensory exploration to find a way through, developing movement and coordination and above all, full of fun!
