Your Child May Get Ignorant Towards You At This Point

Team AckoFeb 8, 2024

This is the stage when your child’s attention span is longer and they easily get absorbed in play. They find it difficult to switch tasks at your request and as a result of which they may become ignorant towards your requests and commands.

What you need to know

You may feel that your child is ignoring your instructions to switch to other activities. It may just be that they do not understand what is expected of them. So they continue what they are doing. Instead of announcing that play time is over, say: let’s put away the toys, wash our hands and get ready for dinner.

Another reason may be that they are not sure how to do what they are asked. Instead of just telling them what to do, show them how to do the different chores that you expect them to do. Thirdly, since your child is very independent, your expectations may have risen too. Remember, they are still quite young and take time to understand things. Express yourself verbally and clearly.
