Bachka

Treat with this crispy Bachka, which can be prepared easily at home. Brinjal is a good source of copper, dietary fiber, and folate.

    Ingredients to make Bachka:

    10 slices oval brinjal (cut into very thin round slices), 10 slices bottle gourd, 10 slices pumpkin, mustard oil required for deep frying.

    For the batter:

    1 cup besan, 2 tbsp. rice flour (for crispiness), Salt to taste, ¼ tsp. turmeric powder, chilli powder as desired, water as required to make batter.

    Steps to make Bachka:

    1. Combine besan, rice flour, salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, 1 tbsp. mustard oil and dry mix well.

    2. Use water little by little and make to a smooth batter in such a consistency when a vegetable slice is dipped, there is uniform thin coat on it.

    3. Heat oil in a frying pan while the batter rest for 10 minutes.

    4. Deep fry the batter dipped vegetable slices to golden brown colour on both the sides by turning them over.

    You can amaze everyone at home as a snack with sauce or as a side dish.
