Dal Bhel

An instant, quick, crunchy snack, called Dal Bhel is a perfect evening snack. Using various dals and peanuts, which have valuable protein and adding puffed rice too which has carbohydrates. This dry mix can be flavoured using lemon juice, curry leaves, garlic and sesame seeds powder. These ingredients have vital vitamin and minerals.

    Ingredients to make Dal Bhel:

    ½ cup puffed rice, 1 tbsp channa dal, 1 tbsp urad dal, 4-5 peanuts, 2 garlic cloves, 1 tsp lemon juice, 3-4 curry leaves, salt as required, 1 tbsp sesame seeds powder, 1 tsp oil, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp grated coconut

    Steps to make Dal Bhel:

    1. In a kadai, dry roast channa and urad dal for about 5 minutes till it emits a nice aroma. Keep aside in a mixing bowl.

    2. In the same kadai, add peanuts and saute for 3-4 minutes. Add to the mixing bowl.

    3. Mince the garlic cloves. Add the garlic, puffed rice, lemon juice, finely chopped curry leaves, sesame powder, oil, salt, grated coconut and cumin to the dal bowl.

    Crunchy and tangy Dal Bhel is ready.
