This is a popular dish of Kashmir that is made from masoor dal and dried bottle gourd as a main course food. You can make it spicy or non-spicy as per your taste but it is very healthy for your development.

20 dried Al Hach or bottle gourd strips, 2 cup red lentil or masoor dal, 2 tomatoes, 1 chopped onion, 1 tbs ginger garlic paste, 1 black cardamom, 3 green chillies, 1 tbs turmeric powder, 1 tbs red chilli powder, salt to taste, 2 sprigs of coriander leaves and 1 lemon
1. Soak Al Hach strips in boiled water for almost 30 minutes.
2. Heat some oil in the pressure cooker and add some cardamom and onion to it.
3. Fry onion till it turns translucent. Add tomatoes, ginger garlic paste to it.
4. When the oil separates add turmeric and chilli powder.
5. Add red lentils and Al Hach. Mix all of them well and then add water as required.
6. Give 3-4 whistles till the dal is cooked.
7. When the steam goes off, open the pressure cooker and add lemon juice to it.
Garnish the dal with coriander leaves and serve it hot with roti or rice.
