    Ingredients to make Basmathi Rice Khichdi:

    Rice – 3 tbsp, yellow moong daal – 3 tbsp, cumin seeds – ½ tsp, asafoetida – a pinch, turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp, salt to taste, ghee – 1 tbsp, water – 1½ cup

    Steps to make Basmathi Rice Khichdi:

    1. Wash and drain rice and dal. Add into a pressure cooker along with cumin seeds, salt, turmeric powder and asafoetida.

    2. Add water, close the cooker, pressure cook for 5 whistles and simmer it for 5 minutes. Switch off the flame and let the steam escape.

    3. Open the cooker and cool. Blend the mixture into a smooth puree. Mix with ghee and serve.
