Honda Launches BS6 Jazz in India

Japanese car manufacturer, Honda, has launched the BS6 avatar of the Honda Jazz in India. Prices of the premium hatchback start from Rs. 7.50 lakh. The new Honda Jazz in its BS6 avatar has received few cosmetic updates and new features apart from the BS6 petrol unit. The new Jazz is available only with a petrol engine and the diesel engine has been given a miss. The premium hatchback from Honda derives power from a 1.2-litre engine that is competent enough to produce a maximum power of 90hp and a peak torque of 110Nm. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while a CVT is also available. The company claims the new BS6 Jazz offers a mileage of 16.6kmpl from the manual gearbox, while the CVT offers a mileage of 17.1kmpl. The new Jazz receives features such as new LED headlights, revised front and rear bumpers and new alloy wheels. On the inside, it receives new upholstery, among others. The Honda Jazz is available in three variants namely V, VX and top-of-the-line ZX. The car also comes with 5 different paint schemes: Lunar Silver Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl and Modern Steel Metallic. Japanese carmaker Honda has started the pre-bookings for the new BS6 Honda Jazz in India. Buyers can book the vehicle at any of the authorised HCIL dealers or can visit the company’s web portal and book the hatchback online. The BS6 avatar of the Honda Jazz has received new styling updates, advanced functions and technology and class-leading packaging. The BS6 Jazz will be offered only with a petrol engine as the diesel unit has been stopped by the company. The vehicle will draw power from the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol unit. The car is expected to be offered either with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic gearbox. The hatchback features LED headlights, new DRLs, one-touch sunroof, push-button start/stop system, smart entry, cruise control, along with paddle shifters for the CVT variant. The Honda Jazz competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz and the Volkswagen Polo in the Indian market.

The BS6 Honda Jazz has been teased by the company ahead of its launch in the country. Apart from the cleaner BS6 engine, the new BS6 Jazz is expected to get several other updates. While its competitors such as Maruti Baleno have discontinued the diesel model, the BS6 Honda Jazz is expected to be offered with both petrol and diesel options. Similar to the BS4 version, the BS6 Jazz is expected to be offered with the 1.2-litre iVTEC petrol unit and probably the new 1.5-litre diesel engine. The premium hatchback is expected to feature both manual and automatic gearbox options.
