The Skoda Vision X CNG-Petrol-Electric hybrid car premiered at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2018. It’s a CNG-petrol-electric hybrid SUV, and has the signature grill of the Skoda family, to distinguish it as a younger sibling of the previous models. The interior of the Skoda Vision X is entirely futuristic, with triangular seats and covered with a combination of artificial leather and breathable fabric for added comfort.
The unique thing about this car is that the PNG drives the front wheels, and the electric engine drives the back ones. However, the rear-wheel drive only kicks in when the system detects slippage or when you start the car from a standstill position. You get 0-200 kmph in 9.3 seconds. The car has a top speed of 200 kmph, with 650 kilometres worth of petrol in the initial reserve petrol tanks.
Specifications
Engine displacement: 1,498 cc
Runs on: Electric/CNG/petrol hybrid

The 2022 Skoda Rapid seems to have a larger and more grown-up look and will be more expensive than previous Skoda Rapid designs. Although we're calling it “Rapid”, it is likely to be launched under a new, undisclosed name. But for convenience, we’re calling it the 2022 Skoda Rapid. The Rapid 2022 has sharp LED lights and is likely to have multiple body panels resembling the VW Virtus with a similar profile. The cabin is also wider by another half metre to make it feel roomier. You will get ample boot space with 520 cubic litres.
Facilities like wireless recharging and “My Skoda” connectivity, ventilated seats, feather touch air conditioner controls, and a brand-new infotainment screen interface should provide you with a sufficient tech upload. Add a high-end six-speaker subwoofer sound system with auto wipers and auto headlamps, and you’ve got yourself a good set of wheels!

The Vision 7S looks sleek on the outside, with a character line extending along the car's length. The interiors are minimalistic, with a touchscreen dashboard including air conditioning controls. Skoda has miniaturised the instrument cluster to impart an uncluttered look. It is a deviation from typical electric cars that allocate a lot of dashboard space for their screens.

Runs on: Electricity (EV)
Mileage: 600 km per charge
Type: SUV
Seating capacity: 7
Expected launch date: December 2026

Here’s another upcoming SUV by Skoda expected to hit Indian roads by 2024. It is a petrol car with both manual and automatic options. The car has a longer wheelbase than many others of its class, thereby paving the way for potentially more leg space. It has a spacious boot with a volume of 400 litres and a fuel tank capacity of 50 litres. The Skoda Kamiq also has a considerable ground clearance of 170 mm, which reduces the possibility of damage from speed breakers.
This new entry in India from Skoda has a smart but conventional-looking exterior. Looks-wise, the interior of the Skoda Kamiq is well-laid out and packed with tech but doesn’t offer anything spectacular.
Specifications
Engine displacement: 999 cc
Runs on: Petrol
Mileage: 19.5 kmpl
Type: SUV
Seating capacity: 5
Expected launch date: November 2024
Expected price: 15 lakhs

Look out for this swanky entry from Skoda in 2023!
