Tips for finding the best health insurance policy in Delhi
Jump Tag Icon

Finding the most suitable health insurance policy can be tricky, especially if you are buying it for the first time. But we have your back. Here are some useful tips that will help you get not only a suitable policy but also an affordable one.

  1. Know your requirements: There are different kinds of health insurance policies available in the market, which can confuse you. A simple solution is to note your needs and then set out to find a medical insurance plan. Gauge requirements like the number of dependents, age, income, medical history, hereditary diseases in the family, etc., and then look for the relevant coverage once you have all the answers.

  2. Calculate premium: As mentioned earlier, it is easy to buy medical plans online. Tools like the health insurance premium calculator can give you a quote for the policy you are about to buy. You can then make slight changes in the coverage and check if the quote decreases. You can thus save a few bucks by calculating the premium before actually buying the plan.

  3. Compare plans: Comparing plans can give you an idea of different health insurance products available in the market. You can also compare insurers' features, coverages, and services for a similar health plan. You can make an informed decision after weighing all the available options.

  4. Buy a plan with a minimum waiting period: In case of claim, the waiting period increases your out-of-pocket expenses as you need to pay for the treatment during this time. Look for a plan that offers a minimum to no waiting period. For example, ACKO Health Insurance Policy has a zero waiting period for disclosed ailments.

  5. Be aware of the coverages and exclusions: Always ensure you know what you are paying for. This includes the coverages, exclusions, and the services of the policy. Coverages and exclusions will help you understand when you can raise a claim. At the same time, you can efficiently avail of the services if you know they are being offered. For example, ACKO offers multiple telephonic consultations with a certified doctor.
