With such increased development comes an increase in job opportunities. And what likely follows is increased pollution, work stress, unhealthy food habits and other health-endangering factors.

Why do you need for health insurance in Kolkata
Jump Tag Icon

Since Kolkata is inundated with IT companies and other industries, there is a higher risk of developing lifestyle related illnesses. In fact, according to the National Family Health Survey (2005-06), 18% of men and 30% of women are overweight or obese in Kolkata. The same report goes on to say that the prevalence of Tuberculosis in the city is also on the higher side.

Although a city like Kolkata may have all the necessary medical facilities to treat different medical conditions, the costs could amount to a lot. During a health crisis, the last thing you want to do is scramble around for finances. Thus, it is wise to proactively purchase a health insurance policy to be financially secure during medical emergencies.
