Sikkim is a state in the northeastern part of India. It is the second-smallest and least populous state in the country. The state offers some picturesque views as it is located near the mighty Himalayas. Hence, it’s a must-visit state if you are a nature lover. Some of the prominent places include Tsomgo Lake, Pemayangtse Monastery, Nathula Pass and Buddha Park.
Tsomgo Lake, also called Changu Lake, is based near Gangtok. You can also watch migratory birds at this lake. Locals consider it a sacred lake, and you will require a permit to visit this place.
The Pemayangtse Monastery is among the oldest monasteries in the state, built in 1705. It is situated 140 km from Gangtok.
Nathula Pass is one of the highest motorable roads in the world. It is located on the road joining Sikkim and Tibet. You will require a permit to take this scenic route.
The Buddha Park was built in the Ravangla area in 2006. The 130-foot Buddha statue is the highlight of this place. It is also a place of spiritual significance to the Buddhists.
