Honda Sells 11 Lakh units of BS6 Two-wheelers

Honda Activa 6G and Shine are the top-selling models of the company that has managed to sell more than 11 Lakh units of BS6 compliant two-wheelers in India. The auto manufacturers were given a deadline of April 01, 2020, to begin the sale of BS6 compliant vehicles and seize the distribution of vehicles with BS5 or below emission systems. However, Honda began selling BS6 compliant two-wheelers in September 2019, i.e. about six months before everyone else in the market. They had managed to sell about 6.5 lakh units before the deadline. This was a major factor in increased sales of bikes that comply with the recent emission norms. Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Sales & Marketing Director from Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd, said they are proud of the achievement. He is happy that customers trust Honda for buying the two-wheelers that are newly introduced with BS6 emission norms.

Period Of Extended Warranty Increased For Honda Bs4 Bikes And Scooters

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Limited have announced that increased extended warranty will be offered on scooters and bikes running on BS4 emission norms. The warranty on these bikes and scooters was fixed at 2 years and the customer had the option to buy an extended warranty of one year. This made it a total of 3 years of warranty. According to the recent changes, the customers will be offered an extended warranty of 3 years which makes it a total of 5 years of warranty. Another major change is the extension in the timeframe for purchasing the warranty. Earlier, a customer had to opt for an extended warranty within 90 days of purchasing the two-wheeler. Now customers that have bought their Honda BS4 bikes and scooters in the last 550 days can choose to buy the extended warranty. The approximate cost of purchasing the extended warranty if Rs. 1000. It will include expensive parts, labour charges for repair/replacement, claims, etc. The extended warranty can be bought from any authorised Honda dealership.

Honda Teases BS6 Avatar of Grazia Scooter Ahead of Launch in India

The Indian two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki has teased the upcoming BS6 Grazia scooter in India. Ahead of its official launch, the company has teased the scooter in a video through its social media handles. From the teaser, one can say that the new BS6 Grazia is expected to witness minor changes to its exteriors. The scooter is expected to get an all-LED headlight and DRLs on the handlebar cowl. The BS-VI Honda Grazia 125 is expected to get the same 125cc single-cylinder engine, albeit with changes to the power output. The BS4 Honda Grazia was powered by a 125cc unit that produced a maximum power of 8.5hp and a peak torque of 10.5Nm and paired to a CVT automatic gearbox.

Honda Recalls Activa 125 and 6G Models

Honda has recalled the Activa 125 and the 6G models along with the BS6 Dio. The company says that the quality of the rear seat cushion might not be up to their standards. The part will be replaced free of cost by Honda. The models affected were manufactured between 14-25 February 2020. While dealers have begun contacting customer through calls, SMS and email; however, customers can visit the company’s website and check by submitting the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Honda recently launched the BS6 versions of the Activa 125 and the 6G model and more recently the BS6 Dio scooters. All models are updated with BS6 engine and new features.
