There are mainly two types of bike insurance plans for Hero Xtreme: Comprehensive Bike Insurance Pan and Third-party Bike Insurance Plan. Here are the details of the bike insurance plans
Purchasing a Third Party Bike Insurance Policy is compulsory to meet the legal requirements. A Third-party cover is mandatory to ride your two-wheeler on Indian roads. The insurance plan covers damage to third-party vehicle/property or life. It’s a basic insurance plan for your Hero Xtreme as it does not cover own vehicle damages.
You can opt for the Comprehensive Bike Insurance plan for an extensive coverage for your Hero Xtreme. The insurance plan comes with Third-party and Own Damage cover. The Own Damage (OD) cover provides coverage against damage to your bike. The vehicle damages could be due to fire, accident or man-made/natural disasters. The Comprehensive Two-wheeler Insurance Plan also covers losses such as theft or total loss of the insured motorcycle. Apart from that, you can also opt for add-ons to enhance the policy benefits.

If you do not renew the bike insurance plan, the policy will no longer offer coverage to your bike. If the bike insurance policy is expired, the insurance company will not provide the coverage benefits mentioned in the policy. Moreover, it is an offence to ride your bike with an expired insurance plan. If you fail to renew the bike insurance policy within 90 days, then you may also lose the NCB (No Claim Bonus) accrued over the years.
Add-on is an individual cover sold alongside the Comprehensive Bike Insurance Plan. Add-on extends the coverage benefit of the Comprehensive Policy. By default, add-on is not included in the policy. You can opt for more than one add-on when buying/renewing the Comprehensive Bike Insurance Policy. Note that by opting for add-ons the bike insurance premium increases nominally. Only Comprehensive Policy allows you to choose add-ons.
No. A Comprehensive Bike Insurance Policy does not cover aftermarket accessories. The insurance plan covers only accessories fitted by the manufacturer. However, you can intimate the insurer before fitting any accessories or modifying your two-wheeler, and request the insurer to cover such accessories in the insurance policy. Note that the insurance premium may increase by modifying or fitting accessories to your Hero Xtreme.

Duly filled claim form
Insurance policy certificate
Vehicle registration certificate
Repair bill receipts (if any)
First Information Report or FIR (If required)
If you are applying for a claim online, you may have to upload the soft copies of the already mentioned documents. ACKO customers can simply log in to the account via ACKO website/app and file a claim online. You have to enter a few basic details about the vehicle damages and upload the pictures of your vehicle to raise a bike insurance claim with ACKO.
The benefit of making no claims against Hero Xtreme bike insurance is the No Claim Bonus (NCB) discount. If you have made zero claims during the tenure of the previous policy, the insurer will award you a discount on the premium while renewing the two-wheeler insurance plan. The discount may go up to 50% if you have made no claims for five consecutive years.
IDV is nothing but Insured Declared Value. IDV can also be defined as the maximum sum insured amount for your two-wheeler insurance policy. IDV is calculated depending on various factors such as make/model/age of the vehicle, current market value/ex-showroom price of the vehicle, etc. The insurer will pay you the IDV (minus depreciation) if your vehicle is stolen or damaged beyond repairs.
